Young Professionals Committee

The Young Professionals Committee of the Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) Conference invites researchers under age 35 to submit papers for the 2012 APT Conference

The Accelerated Pavement Testing (APT) Conference established its Young Professional Committee to bring together young people interested in exchanging experience and ideas, and to encourage debate on innovative ideas, visions, and the future of APT research. In keeping with this aim, the Young Professionals Committee encourages researchers under age 35 to submit a paper for presentation at APT 2012. One of the poster sessions in APT 2012 will be dedicated to showcase young professionals' research papers. Your paper must cover a project you have worked on or one which you have made significant progress. The best paper will receive the APT award valued at $1500 and an award certificate.

The conference is a dynamic setting for young APT members to promote projects, develop a professional network, and build presentation and public-speaking skills. The APT Conference also provides an excellent opportunity for junior researchers working with APT equipment or data to gain valuable experience in the role of reviewer and to showcase their ideas and approaches for solving the complex problems facing the mechanistic pavement design and pavement management industry today to a group of industry leaders and peers.

If you have any questions regarding the Young Professional Committee for APT 2012, or to sign up to get on the email list, please contact Arash Rezai, Lin Chai or Jeremy Lea (arezaei@ucdavis.edu, jdlea@ucdavis.edu, lchai@ucdavis.edu). The Committee is also looking for additional young professionals to serve in leadership positions.
