Visiting the Pavement Research Center

In keeping with the Pavement Research Center mission, visitors are encouraged to tour our facilities, discuss new research, and share technologies that hold the potential for improving our roadways. The PRC and its field test sites are located in a secured areas, so if you would like to arrange a visit, please contact the PRC ahead of time:

Courses offered through the Technology Transfer Program

The Pavement Research Center offers several courses through the University of California Technology Transfer program.

UCPRC-Davis (ATIRC)

From I-80 (San Francisco or Sacramento): Take 113 North and then take Hutchison off-ramp (1st offramp). Turn left onto Hutchison Drive to traffic circle, take first right Drive to traffic circle, stay on Hutchison Drive 1 mile, turn left onto Hopkins Rd Drive 0.4 miles, turn right into into Apiary Drive (3rd right) Drive 0.1 miles, turn right Enter ATIRC through second gate on left.

From I-5 (Sacramento Metro Airport): Head North on I5, take the Main Street Woodland to 113 exit on the right (about 8 miles). Continue on Main Street for a short distance, going under 113. Turn left onto 113 South. Take Hutchison off-ramp on the right (about 9.8 miles). Turn right onto Hutchison Drive to traffic circle, staying right at the traffic circle and proceed to the second traffic circle, follow it around, stay on Hutchison Drive 1 mile, turn left onto Hopkins Rd Drive 0.4 miles, turn right into into Apiary Drive (3rd right) Drive 0.1 miles, turn right Enter ATIRC through second gate on left.

From I-5 (Northern California): Head South on I5, take the 113 South exit on the right. Take Hutchison off-ramp on the right (about 9.8 miles). Turn right onto Hutchison Drive to traffic circle, staying right at the traffic circle and proceed to the second traffic circle, follow it around, stay on Hutchison Drive 1 mile, turn left onto Hopkins Rd Drive 0.4 miles, turn right into into Apiary Drive (3rd right) Drive 0.1 miles, turn right Enter ATIRC through second gate on left.

ATIRC is the large blue building with orange roll-up doors. Address is 3327 Apiary Drive, Davis, CA, 95616 Co-ordinates = 38°32'04.62"N, 121°47'39.60"W (38.534612339271895, -121.79431959986686).

UCPRC-Berkeley at Richmond Field Station (RFS)

From I-80/580 and points south (from Berkeley, Oakland, or San Francisco): After the Gilman Street exit, get in one of the two right lanes and take I-580 toward the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge. Exit on Bayview (second exit after freeway splits). Turn left at the stoplight. Follow ramp and go straight at the stop sign onto Meade Street. Pass the Zeneca facility (on your left) and immediately turn left on to South 47th Street. Immediately turn right and stop at the RFS gate police kiosk.

From I-80 and points north (from Sacramento): Take the Carlson Avenue exit. Turn right and go through the light at South 55th Street. Turn left at the next light onto Bayview. Go over the freeway to the stop sign. Go straight at the stop sign onto Meade Street. Pass the Campus Bay complex (on your left) and immediately turn left on to South 47th Street. Immediately turn right and stop at the RFS gate police kiosk.

From I-580 (from Marin County): Take the Regatta Boulevard exit. Go straight through the light (onto Meade). Take the next right onto South 47th Street. Immediately turn right and stop at the RFS gate police kiosk.
